Executive Director of Behavioral Center Becomes National Consultant

Dr. Kelly Graves, the Executive Director of the Center for Behavioral Health and Wellness and Associate Professor in the Department of Human Development and Services at North Carolina A&T State University, was invited to be a national consultant for the Office for Victims of Crime Consultant Network, which is part of the OVC Training and Technical Assistance Center (OVC TTAC) with the United States Department of Justice.

OVC TTAC supports capacity-building needs of organizations serving victims of crime and provide training and technical assistance for organizations across the country on trauma, trauma-informed care, and victim services for a variety of organizations, including victim advocates, social workers, law enforcement, and many other agencies.

Dr. Graves was selected based on her expertise in trauma, trauma-informed care, and specialized victim services across service systems.

“I am incredibly honored to have been selected as a national consultant on a topic that I am very passionate about – trauma and trauma-informed care.” said Dr. Graves. “Being able to help individuals and agencies build their capacity in this area on the national scene is quite an honor.”

As a licensed clinical psychologist, Graves has extensive clinical, research, and training experience, particularly around the areas of children exposed to violence and trauma and their families. She leads a talented team of counselors, psychologists, social workers, criminologist, sociologists, and public health educators at the Center for Behavioral Health and Wellness.
