School of Ag Presented with $15,000 from Chemical Company

Representatives from chemical company BASF’s Greensboro office, recently visited North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. The BASF group toured soil and integrated pest management (IPM) laboratories and the University Farm and had opportunities to network with students.

Derek Fairclough, senior vice president of Dispersions and Pigments North America at BASF, presented the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences with a donation of $15,000 to support the school’s programs. BASF representatives also announced a new summer internship program, and encouraged Aggies to apply in March and April.

“We’re looking to establish a long and productive relationship between the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and BASF, particularly in the area of sustainability. It’s our responsibility to expose our students to a variety of options in the American food system, and that’s what this day was all about,” said Dr. Bill Randle, Dean of the School of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences.
