Chancellor Harold L. Martin, Sr. recently welcomed a handful of distinguished North Carolina legislators to campus.
The group of lawmakers included five North Carolina A&T State University alumni – Rep. Alma Adams, Rep. Larry Bell, Sen. Gladys Robinson, Sen. Ben Clark and Sen. Joel Ford – who came to hear more about the university’s progress and take in the nostalgia of their alma mater.
The Aggie legislators met with Chancellor Martin and cabinet members and toured the campus.
“A&T has been good to me,” said Sen. Ford. He and the other legislators acknowledged their support and commitment to A&T. “Please use me as a resource,” he added.
The chancellor shared the university’s vision and mission to become a premiere institution of choice and the value of being a land-grant, research intensive doctoral university.
“The most recognized universities in the world are land-grant institutions,” Martin said.
He also shared the university’s strategic plan to meet and exceed research, academic and operational goals by 2020.
