A&T to Host Diabetes Awareness Walk

In an effort to raise awareness about diabetes, North Carolina A&T State University’s School of Nursing will host the 2nd annual Diabetes Awareness Walk on Thursday, Nov. 13. The two-mile walk, set to begin at 12 p.m., will begin at Noble Hall, near the corner of Dudley and Bluford streets.

The walk is co-sponsored by the Student Health Center and the Center for Outreach in Alzhemier’s, Aging and Community Health and is open to the entire community.

Organizers are encouraging university and community members to start or join a team, or register as an individual by visiting Aggies Bring Awareness to Diabetes. Tax- deductible donations can also be made to the American Diabetes Association to support their mission to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by the disease.  This year’s goal is $2,600. For more information about the walk contact Dr. Schenita Randolph at 336-285-3588 or
email: sadavis@ncat.edu.
