Greensboro CEO Joins N.C. A&T as Entrepreneur-in-Residence

The School of Business and Economics at North Carolina A&T State University is excited to welcome Antoine Smith, chairman and CEO of the Smith Gruppe in Greensboro, as entrepreneur-in-residence.

In that role, Smith will lend his expertise to the Center for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (CEI) by supporting the center’s programming, including the Interdisciplinary Entrepreneurship Initiative, which expands entrepreneurship to all disciplines on campus; the Entrepreneurship Coaching Clinic; and the Community Outreach Initiative.

In addition to supporting CEI, Smith will also lecture in classes and speak at various campus events as well as collaborate with other departments and units on campus to help students and faculty translate their ideas into entrepreneurial ventures.

“We are delighted to have Antoine on our team. He is a good fit for our program and our students will benefit a great deal from his passion, experience, expertise and advice,” said Dr. Thaddeus McEwen, CEI director.

Smith has more than 25 years of executive and entrepreneurial experience including risk assessment and investment relations management, sales team management, mortgage banking, new business development and business consulting. His company provides corporate-level advising and consulting services to small and medium-sized businesses.
