A&T Rises in National Polls

North Carolina A&T made major moves in the polls and became black college football’s unanimous No. 1 after their 39-36 four-overtime win over Football Bowl Subdivision (FBS), foe Kent State on, Sept. 10.

The Aggies jumped five places in both the Football Championship Subdivision STATS (FCS) Media Poll and the NCAA FCS Coaches’ Poll. The Aggies are ranked 18th in the media poll and 19th in the coaches’ poll. 

The black college polls were just as friendly to N.C. A&T’s historic win. The Aggies are the unanimous No. 1 in the both the Boxtorow HBCU Football Coaches’ Poll and the Sheridan Broadcasting Network (SBN) Black College Media Poll.

All 20 first-place votes went to the Aggies in the Boxtorow coaches’ poll, followed by Bethune-Cookman University, Alcorn State University, Grambling State University and Prairie View A&M University in the Top-5. In Boxtorow’s media poll, the Aggies received 10 of 12 first-place votes to earn the No. 1 spot.

SBN’s 30 first-place votes went to N.C. A&T. The Aggies are followed Alcorn State University, Bethune-Cookman University, Prairie View A&M University and Grambling State University in the Top-5.
