Volleyball Announces Signing of Richards

North Carolina A&T has added a reinforcement at the net with the signing of Macenzie Richards (6-foot, Pickerington, Ohio/Pickerington HS), head volleyball coach Hal Clifton announced. Richards will join N.C. A&T in the fall of the 2018.

“We are very excited to announce the addition of Macenzie to the Aggie volleyball family,” Clifton said. “Macenzie is a very dynamic player who will be taking over on the right side replacing three-year starter Alyssa Pitt. On the defensive side, Macenzie is extremely quick off the ground and at the height above the net she can play, will put pressure on our opponents. On the offensive side, she has experience at both pins and in the middle. She can hit a number of play sets which will be fun to add to our offense. Macenzie is a bright student and does very well academically. She is a great fit to our program and along with our returners will continue to raise the bar in our gym.”

Richards holds the Pickerington career school record for blocks and was honorable mention all-district as a senior. During her final three years of high school, she was named second-team All-Ohio Cardinal Conference. In the classroom, she received an Academic Pin and made the Distinguished Honor Roll throughout high school. Richards played for the Mintonette Volleyball Club. Her career goal is to be a forensic scientist.
