Gate City Alumni Chapter Answers the Call to Endow a National Alumni Scholar

The Gate City Alumni Chapter has a track record for being the first in many things, such as the first chartered chapter of the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Alumni Association, Inc. in 1909. Now they are the first alumni chapter to take on the challenge to endow a National Alumni Scholar. This giving initiative is part of the university’s Power of Do Capital Campaign.

“The Gate City Alumni Chapter believes in education and scholarship, so it was a no brainer for us to step up to the challenge from the university to endow a scholar,” said Phyllis Moore ’75, Gate City Alumni Chapter President. “We are one of the largest chapters in the association with a membership of 225 members and we are excited to support our students.”

The National Alumni Scholarship Program is managed by the Alumni Association and it provides the opportunity annually for incoming freshmen to receive full financial assistance that includes tuition, room and board, and books. The scholarship awards the best and brightest students who exemplify the excellence of Aggie Pride.
