NEW ENHANCEMENTS
FOR THE NEW YEAR

Blackboard Inc. has released new enhancements to the Blackboard Learning Management System.

Upgrades to the system were completed Dec. 20–27.

The latest software release offers efficiencies that instructors have been asking for to improve existing functions. The new enhancements are easy to use; some run automatically in the background, producing highly desirable output for users. Highlights are listed below.

Blackboard Collaborate included in every course as a standard course tool

Accessibility for visually impaired and keyboard-only users is available with keyboard shortcuts

Test Access Log shows student activity while taking online tests

More precise due date enforcement for tests

Test Exception Settings are available for students requiring special accommodation

Event-based release of test results and feedback   

Manual override for calculated test totals

Improved test export/import

Ability to define which score to display for multiple attempt tests within Test Options

Ability to insert questions into existing tests

Notification about new course messages now displayed in My Blackboard (Updates)

Expandable space for inline grading

Inline grading for blogs, wikis and journals

Prominent display of late assignments

Grading schemas can now exceed 100 percent

Date management – conveniently modify content and tool dates (e.g., after importing a past course into a new course)

Visual tracker indicates activity progress (e.g., during course export)
