The North Carolina A&T State University chapter of the nation’s oldest, largest and most selective all-discipline honor society, Phi Kappa Phi, has inducted more than 120 students, distinguished alumni, faculty and staff, including Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. and Dean William B. Harvey, this year.
The honor society’s mission is “To recognize and promote academic excellence in all fields of higher education and to engage the community of scholars in service to others.”
The members were initiated and recognized at a banquet on April 1. N.C. A&T graduate Patrice Faison, who was also inducted, served as the banquet’s keynote speaker.
Since its founding in 1897, Phi Kappa Phi has initiated more than 1 million members in chapters on more than 300 campuses in the United States, Puerto Rico and the Philippines.
