As a part of the North Carolina A&T State University Lyceum Series, neo soul artist India Arie will perform at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 25, in Harrison Auditorium.
Arie, a recent inductee into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame has been nominated for the coveted Grammy award 20 times with three wins. Her albums, “Acoustic Soul,” “Voyage to India,” “Testimony: Vol. 1, Life & Relationship” and “Testimony: Vol. 2, Love & Politics” have earned critical acclaim and gold or platinum status.
She has worked with artists such as John Mellencamp, Santana, Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Akon, Anthony David and others.
As a philanthropist and social activist, Arie has lent her time and talents as a UNICEF ambassador to Africa to help fight the AIDS pandemic on that continent.
Tickets are now available in the A&T ticket office and are $20 for the general public and free for students.
