North Carolina A&T State University vice chancellor for Business and Finance Robert Pompey Jr. was named a finalist for the Triad’s chief financial officer of the year by the Triad Business Journal. Pompey has served as vice chancellor since October 2007.
Prior to coming to N.C. A&T, he served as associate controller for Wake Forest University in Winston Salem. He was also employed by the accounting firm, KPMG LLP, as a senior audit manager.
Pompey has been a certified public accountant since 1989. He received his B.S. in accounting from A&T and his M.B.A. from Wake Forest University. He is a member of the National Association of Certified Public Accountants.
