The class of 2012 of The Middle College at North Carolina A&T has made history. This class is the first in the school’s 8-year history to graduate 100 percent of the senior class.

For the first time in the school’s history, the entire graduating class has been accepted to a 4-year college or university. Graduates have earned more than $1 million in scholarships and grants, earned service learning diplomas and been named North Carolina Academic Scholars.

Principal Eric Hines credits the success of the class to the leadership of the Guilford County Schools and N.C. A&T.

“We wish to thank Chancellor (Harold L.) Martin and Superintendent Maurice Green for being visionaries and supporting a high school on a university campus.  Thanks to  Dr. Terry Worrell, Superintendent for the Central Region and her staff along with Dr. William Harvey and the School of Education staff,” Hines said. 

The class showed persistence and fortitude and lived up to the commitments from teachers and other stakeholders to instill in them that, “Failure Is Not an Option,” Hines said.

Tray Milton Carter, Kieran Kristopher Chavis, Isaiah James Miller, Jalen Deshaun Pinder, Jamal Jerod Robinson, Jordan Matthew Sharpe and Arsenio Raymond Vincent will all attend A&T in the fall.
Antonio Lenard Hairston, Jr., Corey Alexander Kimber and Matthew Scott Richardson, Jr. will attend North Carolina Central University while Donnie Ray Totten, Jr. and Khiry Donell Waden will attend UNC-Greensboro, Justin Arie Estep will attend UNC-Charlotte.
Edward Josephus Frazier-Brown and Chantez Jamal Robinson will enroll at Livingstone College, Jordan Taylor Harris will attend Western Carolina University and Cortez Lavelle Glenn Hogan will enroll at Shaw University. James Lamont Massey, Jr. will head to Ferrum College, Darius Jamar Parks to Chowan University and Marquise Trevon Shelton will attend Wake Forest University.
