Coming into college Jared Baldwin knew he was going to have to commit himself to hard work and exceed expectations in order to perform well academically and athletically. Now a senior on the North Carolina A&T men's track and field team, the Greensboro-native has managed to successfully navigate the treacherous waters of being a student athlete, and still remains focused on his goals for the future.
Baldwin, a triple jumper, will compete this week in the 2012 East Track and Field Preliminary Round in Jacksonville, Fla. As a computer engineering major, he strives to go above and beyond what is expected – and has an impressive grade point average, of 3.51, to show for it.
With the unconditional support of his family and his own unwavering will to succeed, Baldwin is a great example of a student-athlete who can balance the pressures of school and track, and come out on top in both areas.
