Over four thousand middle school, high school and collegiate transfer
students visited North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University
on Saturday, Oct. 19 to learn about the university’s competitive academic
programs and engaging student organizations.
Chancellor Harold L. Martin, Sr. opened the event by welcoming families to
N.C. A&T, followed by Akua Matherson, associate vice chancellor for
enrollment management and Canisha Cierra Turner, student government
association president who gave opening remarks.
“We partnered with a lot of on campus organization to make it successful,”
said Crystal Williams, assistant director of undergraduate admissions and
chair of the University Day committee.
Parents and students received information about the college process
including the admissions timeline and the financial aid check list during
the concurrent sessions which featured an academic fair, student services
fair, student panel discussion and student organizational fair.
“It was very well received. We’ve received feedback from several parents
thanking the staff for working tirelessly on this event,” said Williams.
Williams shared one of the parent comments which applauded the staff for “pulling together a successful and awesome University Day.”
The A&T Cheerleaders, Unity Step Team, A&T Fellowship Choir and the Blue
and Gold Marching Machine performed for guests during the spirit session.
Visitors were also entertained with a fashion show featuring apparel from
the Barnes & Noble at N.C. A&T bookstore.
University Day participants ended their day at the Aggie football game day
against Delaware State University. |
