BET’s Joshua Rogers and 100 Men in Black Male Chorus Open Lyceum Series

Joshua Rogers, winner of BET’s hit talent competition show Sunday’s Best, and the 100 Men in Black Male Chorus, Inc. opened the 2013-14 Lyceum Series with a soul shaking gospel performance on Wednesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. in Harrison Auditorium.

The 100 Men in Black Male Chorus features males of various ages,
ethnicities and backgrounds. The diverse group, led by director Marlon
West, was named the Thomas A. Dorsey Choir of the Year and received the Shirley Caesar Music Outreach Lamplighter Award.

The lyceum series is a provocative and culturally diverse showcase of performing arts and expressions. Through art, music and culture the series has brought world-class talent to North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (N.C. A&T).  Past headliners were Sheila E. and The E. Family, the Russian National Ballet Theatre, Mary Mary and the Chinese Golden Acrobats.

During the 2013-14 showcase –Valuing and Exploring Cultural Expressions Part II, N.C. A&T will host a sneak preview of the film Black Nativity on Oct. 23, CONTRA-TEMPO Urban Latin Dance Theatre will bring Salsa, Afro-Cuban, contemporary and urban dance theatre to the stage on Feb. 18 and the Chinese Golden Acrobats will return for an encore performance on April 3. 

All lyceum events are open to the public and free for N.C. A&T students.  N.C. A&T faculty and staff tickets are $5 and general audience tickets are $15.
