Dr. Stephanie Luster-Teasley, associate professor in the College of Engineering, is among the first cohort of 20 fellows to complete the NSF funded Opportunities for UnderRepresented Scholars (OURS) Post Graduate Certificate in Academic Leadership at The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP).
With a $1.8 million grant from the National Science Foundation (NSF), the OURS program provides initial funding to support full scholarships for eligible participants for a Post-Graduate Certificate in Academic Leadership.
The OURS program is designed to prepare women in the science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) for academic leadership roles, either within their STEM disciplines or within institutional administrations.
Luster-Teasley is serves in the departments of civil, architectural and environmental engineering and chemical, biomedical and bioengineering.
“The fact that Dr. Luster-Teasley was selected among this distinguished cohort of fellows is a mark of great distinction. Dr. Luster-Teasley is one of those rare individuals who has, in the course of her career, not only advanced the frontiers of engineering research, but who continues to serve as a wonderful role model for others," said Robin Coger, dean of the College of Engineering.
“This latest achievement is one of many reflecting her commitment to excellence and the College of Engineering is very proud of her,” said Coger.
Upon completion of the year-long program in April, Luster-Teasley will receive a post-graduate certificate in Academic Leadership from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (TCSPP). |
