| In honor of North Carolina A&T State University’s 125th anniversary, the Aggie Athletic Foundation (AAF), the official fundraising arm for Aggie Athletics, has introduced “The Drive to 125” with the goal to secure 125 donors in 125 days. The university has established a goal of raising $1.25 million for student scholarships during the year. Gifts made toward any scholarship will be counted toward the goal. An anonymous donor has pledged to match – dollar for dollar – gifts designated to any scholarship fund up to $125,000 from first-time alumni donors. “These funds will enable us to honor our Aggie Pride and support the future of this great institution and the students it serves,” said Carletta Simmons, director of annual giving. All gifts made during the “AAF 125 Donors in 125 Days” campaign will be designated toward scholarships for more than 300 student-athletes. “While this campaign is targeted toward recruiting new donors to the AAF, current donors are welcomed to participate,” said Jennifer Williams, associate athletic director for development and executive director of the Aggie Athletic Foundation. The campaign will conclude on Dec. 31. “Scholarship donors can enjoy the satisfaction of knowing their gift provides life-changing opportunities for our student-athletes and for generations of their children to follow,” Williams said. Scholarship gifts are 100 percent tax deductible. Gifts can be made online by visiting the website. Please select the Aggie Athletic Foundation (AAF) as your gift designation and 16AAF125 as your solicitation code.
There is also the option to give over the phone by calling 336-285-3063 locally or toll-free at 888-248-2821 to offer your immediate support with a check, credit card or bank draft gift. “Your gift made in support of the campaign will make an immediate impact on the athletics program at N.C. A&T. Please don’t underestimate what your gift of any amount can mean,” Williams said. |
