| Having worked for Enertia Software for more than seven years, Vince Dawkins ’00 is quite familiar with the company’s overall operations. It’s no wonder the board of directors unanimously elected him to the position of president and CEO in February.
Dawkins began his career with the oil and gas software solution company in 2008 as a senior business analyst, and moved into the position of director of special projects and business intelligence in 2015 before accepting his new role. His knowledge and expertise significantly contributed to the design, development and implementation of an enterprise application, which is a resource currently used by over 150 leaders in the oil and gas industry.
As president, Dawkins’ role will certainly shift, but his plans are simply to pursue and extend the company’s outstanding progress and innovation throughout the industry.
“I’m looking forward to the opportunity to pilot Enertia on a continued path of success” Dawkins said. “Enertia has taken the steps in the right direction for advancement in production and billing allocations, mapping integration, field data capture, web services and many other areas. I plan to execute the company’s vision with dedication and tenacity.”
Dawkins’ field is quite technical and requires specific knowledge, but having previously worked with industry leading organizations such as Amoco/BP, Accenture, David Powers and EAG Solutions; he has developed a sound understanding of the required processes, as well as an eye for innovation.
It’s a passion and skill that has grown since his childhood days of exploring and tinkering with the structure and assembly of items.
“I grew up taking many things apart and trying to put them back together. Sometimes successful and sometimes not,” said Dawkins. “My dad had a mechanical engineering degree and nudged me in that direction, which was certainly the right way to go. I’m extremely analytical; a very logical thinker.”
“My education at A&T, more along the lines of learning how to learn and how to think through problems and problem solve, has been one of my most valuable assets among the places I have been.”
Dawkins’ promotion comes during a time when the company is experiencing extreme growth particularly with the recent release of new enhancements that Dawkins says, “are literally revolutionizing how the upstream oil and gas industry will do business.” Ultimately he looks forward to better positioning the company to capture more of the market tier with its competitors through exceptional software as well as services and support that meet the needs of clients.
It’s obvious that Dawkins enjoys what he does. It’s what he says makes his promotion that much more exciting.
“We are a unique group. Our support staff not only has industry experience, but we are a fun team. We have people that come from all walks of life and we have a good time doing what we do.”
