In the two-day, 54-hole event, Aggie Athletics’ newest varsity program finished 10th place. The Aggies made steady improvement throughout their inaugural competition. As a team, the Aggies shot a 54-hole total of 987 (123-over par). Their best round came on the third round when the Aggies shot 30-over par 288. "Round one was totally unexpected, but understandable," said N.C. A&T head coach Richard Watkins. "Round three is closer to the expected norm. I like the character of the team. They talked about improving and did so each round." N.C. A&T will play close to home for their next tournament as they play in the UNC Greensboro Starmount Invitational Oct. 3-4 at Starmount Forest Country Club in Greensboro. |
