Greg Hill Redefines His Own Reality with The Minority Trailblazer Podcast

Greg Hill ’14 is a social entrepreneur, author and successful podcaster of The Minority Trailblazer, a weekly broadcast dedicated to minorities who are blazing the trail in business and in life. Now in its second year, the podcast has now achieved over a half a million downloads and has completed its 75th episode.

Hill started his podcast when he noticed there was a huge gap in the podcast space for African Americans not being featured or producing their own content. In November 2015, he launched The Minority Trailblazer Podcast with a goal to tell real stories about people’s success and their struggles. Inspired from his own story, he knew he wanted to create a platform that was authentic and transparent.

Growing up, Hill always had an entrepreneurial spirit and he applied what he knew to everyday life. While in college, he was active in his community working alongside with the mayor of Greensboro and with his fraternity, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Incorporated, and interning for a major corporation. However in 2012 all of that changed, when he made one bad decision with a company he had started in college, Join Me Entertainment. He had a made a mistake by partnering with the wrong people that caused him to lose $20,000 in one night. The result of this mistake led to him being homeless during his senior year of college delaying him to officially graduate by three years.

After graduation, Hill pursued a career in the financial sector in York, Pennsylvania. However that burning desire as an entrepreneur, caused him to leave his job and work full-time as a motivational speaker and podcaster. As a speaker, it has allowed him to be released from all of his fears by addressing his mistakes and changing the narrative of his story. As of date, he has taken The Minority Trailblazer on tour to seven states with the last stop at N.C. A&T. The tour was a live event that has guest interviews, a PSA segment, and four corners of networking that allows audience members a chance to connect with other entrepreneurs.

On March 9-10, 2018, Hill is launching The Minority Trailblazer Conference in his hometown, Durham, N.C. For anyone interested in attending the conference, can register at www.mtbconf.com.
