N.C. A&T Alumnus, Recognized as One of “America’s Top Next-Generation Wealth Advisors” by Forbes

Justin Moore ’09 was recently recognized by Forbes list of “America’s Top Next-Generation Wealth Advisors.” Each year the global media company, selects a nationwide pool of candidates to recognize for this honor by utilizing a thorough selection process. According to Forbes, each candidate must be born in 1980 or more recent, considered advisors building their own teams or currently on teams with the potential to assume a leadership position. In addition, participants are interviewed and measured based on set criteria.

Moore, who was recognized out 115 candidates, is currently a partner and senior financial advisor at Merrill Lynch located in Greensboro, North Carolina

At an early age, Moore always knew he wanted to pursue a career in wealth management due to the lack of education of money that wasn’t taught in his household. He understood before he attended North Carolina A&T State University that monetary success was important to his future. He pursued a bachelor’s degree major in accounting and went on to obtain his master’s degree in accounting from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. He credits his time at N.C. A&T for adequately equipping him with the necessary resources to feel competent in all of his job functions.

For the past six years, Moore has worked diligently to rise to the top in his profession. He loves seeing the success of his clients by creating strategic financial plans that eases their uncertainty about money. One of his most defining moments in his career is when his mother and grandmother were his first clients and he was able to see the impact of his services up-close and personal.

Throughout Moore’s profession, he has faced challenges being an African American male and has had to overcome that perception in Corporate America. He has persevered by always demonstrating confidence and integrity in his work. He credits his mentor, Erick Ellsweig for being influential in his life by being a positive example in the wealth management industry.

In the future, Moore plans to continue to be a trusted resource in the financial community, and grow his client base as a partner by working with professional athletes and celebrities.
