N.C. A&T Alumni Association to Host ‘An Extravagant Evening with Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds’ for the Aggie Alumni Homecoming Concert

The annual North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Alumni Homecoming Concert has a headliner this year that guarantees to give Aggies that “Whip Appeal.” On Nov. 2, 2018, the N.C. A&T State University Alumni Association, Inc. will host “An Extravagant Evening with Kenny ‘Babyface’ Edmonds.”

For ticket holders, the concert offers a buffet reception that begins at 7:45 p.m. and show time is 8:30 p.m., in the Guilford Ballroom at the Koury Convention Center.

As a singer, producer, record label owner and songwriter, Edmonds started his career in the early 1980s when he co-created the urban funk group, The Deele. He rose to fame in the 90s as a solo artist with hits that include “Whip Appeal,” “Tender Lover,” “For the Cool in You,” “Never Keeping Secrets,” “When Can I See You,” and so many more. He is an 11-time Grammy award winner and his music credits include more than 200 top 10 R&B hits and more than 50 top 10 pop hits, including 16 No. 1s.

As co-founder of LaFace Records, Edmonds has worked with entertainment icons such as Whitney Houston, Michael Jackson, Mariah Carey, Beyoncé, Toni Braxton and nurtured the careers of many other artists.

N.C. A&T's week-long homecoming celebration begins Sunday, Oct. 28 and continues through Sunday, Nov. 4.

General ticket sales for the Aggie Alumni Homecoming Concert will begin on Sunday, Sept. 9, 2018, at 1 p.m. at the Alumni-Foundation Event Center, located at 200 N. Benbow Rd., Suite 300, Greensboro, N.C. 27411. For anyone interested in purchasing multiple tables, there is a limit of two tables per purchase until Sept. 11.
