Introduction Letter by past chair, Pamela McCorkle Buncum
Greetings Fellow Alumni,
As my position as board chair ends, I would like to thank everyone who helped create the outstanding successes the North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Alumni Association, Inc. board has accomplished during my tenure. The work of the board is a true group effort focused on shared goals. I am proud to be an Aggie and I am proud to serve our great university and its alumni, donors and student body.
As we move forward, I will be working closely with new board members as they transition to their responsibilities and I am excited about our future under the leadership of our incoming board chair, Karen J. Collins ‘84.
Collins is the founder and president of Collins Collaboration and brings a wealth of senior and executive management experience with Fortune 300 corporations, along with extensive board involvement. She has held several board positions with North Carolina A&T, as well as with the American Heart Association, American Stroke Association, the CoreLogic Foundation and the First American Homeownership Foundation.
In addition to her board work at N.C. A&T, Collins has created relationships and corporate partnerships between the university and the business community. Her involvement has produced internships and permanent employment opportunities for students in industries that include healthcare, investment banking, and engineering. She has also assisted students with program certification opportunities within mortgage banking.
Furthermore, Collins has procured a series of high-profile, senior executive speakers from leading organizations to address the Business College’s Closing Bell Speakers Series including the American Heart Association, Bain & Company, Inc., Operation Hope, Inc., the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, Truman Medical Centers and more.
Please join me in welcoming Karen Collins and all the new members to the board.
With Aggie Pride,
Pam McCorkle Buncum ‘81
