N.C. A&T Ranked No. 2 HBCU in the Nation by Best Colleges
In its 2017-18 ranking of public and private historically black colleges and universities (HBCU), Best Colleges has ranked North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University No. 2 in the United States.
Best Colleges created the rankings utilizing the most recent data from the Integrated Postsecondary Education Data System (IPEDS) of the U.S. Department of Education and College Navigator along with guiding principles of academic standards, affordability, online competency, outcomes and student support. All eligible institutions were ranked on a scale of 100 points.
This ranking is the latest in a banner year for N.C. A&T that includes 6.3 percent growth in enrollment; rankings by U.S. News & World Report as the No. 2 public HBCU in the nation and Diverse Issues in Higher Education as the No. 1 producer of African-American engineers at the undergraduate level and the No. 2 and No. 4 producer of African-American engineers at the master’s and doctoral levels, respectively; and Money magazine’s ranking as the No. 2 public university in the state for early career earnings for graduates.
