N.C. A&T Alumni Concert to Feature Johnny Gill and Special Guest En Vogue

The annual North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University Aggie Alumni Homecoming Concert will feature Grammy nominated R&B crooner Johnny Gill with special guest and Grammy nominees, En Vogue on Friday, Oct. 25, 2019, at the Koury Convention Center.

The Aggie Alumni Homecoming Concert will offer a buffet reception for all ticket holders that begins at 7:45 p.m. Show time is 8:30 p.m., in the Guilford Ballroom.

In the early 1980s, Johnny Gill began his music career by teaming up with Stacy Lattisaw producing two top 10 hits “Perfect Combination” and “Where Do We Go from Here.” In 1988, his career took a successful turn when he joined the famous group, New Edition, for the “Heart Break” album that went certified double platinum. In 1990, he released his second self-titled album that went on to sell over a million copies due to four major hit singles – “Rub You the Right Way,” “My, My, My,” “Fairweather Friend” and “Wrap My Body Tight.” He is currently on his eighth solo album, “Game Changer II,” with a number one hit, “Soul of a Woman” that debuted in early 2019.

One of the most successful female groups of the 1990s, En Vogue is best known for hit singles, “Hold On,” “Don’t Let Go (Love),” “My Loving (You’re Never Gonna Get It),” “Giving Him Something He Can Feel” and “Free Your Mind.” The group has three consecutive platinum albums and has sold more than 20 million records worldwide.

All tickets will be available online via Eventbrite with a donor priority purchase period for alumni who have contributed $1,000 or more to the university during fiscal year 2019 – July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019; and members of the lifetime giving societies who have made cumulative gifts beginning at $25,000. Based on availability, tickets will go on sale to the public on Monday, Sept. 9.
