Here’s What You Need to Know about Homecoming

The Office of Alumni Relations and the North Carolina A&T State University Alumni Association, Inc. would like to welcome all alumni to the 93rd edition of "The Greatest Homecoming on Earth."

In an effort to keep everyone updated and connected throughout homecoming, please visit the homecoming web page by clicking here to view the official schedule.

For this year’s festivities, there are key updates we would like to make sure that all alumni are aware of regarding homecoming.

Homecoming Parade Route
Due to the Greenway Construction taking place in the city of Greensboro, the North Carolina A&T State University annual Homecoming Parade route has changed.

The 2019 parade on Saturday, October 26, will begin at 8 a.m. and the route is as follows: The parade begins at East Lindsay Street/Murrow Boulevard and will end at East Lindsay Street/Laurel Street.

Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal
In addition, track star, Kayla White ’19 will serve as this year’s parade grand marshal. She is best known for breaking a world record this year for being the fastest 200-meter runner in the world.

Aggie Pop Up Shop – Downtown Greensboro
On Oct. 21, North Carolina A&T opened its first Pop-Up Shop in Downtown Greensboro located at 201 S. Elm St., diagonal to the International Civil Rights Museum.

The store will cater not only to visiting alumni but to Greensboro area Aggies and supporters as well through December, offering shoppers plenty of opportunities to buy gifts for the winter holiday season or pick up some new Aggie gear for themselves.

The shop will stay open for the remainder of Homecoming week, from noon to 7 p.m. each day. After that, hours will be noon to 7 p.m. Wednesdays-Saturdays through the holiday season.

The store is a joint venture between the university, Barnes & Noble, Downtown Greensboro Inc. and developer Andy Zimmerman and his company, AZ Development.

Homecoming Alumni Vending Sponsored by the Alumni Association, Inc.
Alumni planning to stay or visit the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel at Four Seasons are encouraged to stop by the Homecoming Vending Area on the third floor in the pre-function area. Vending hours will begin on Friday, Oct. 25 from 3 p.m. to 1 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 a.m. and Sunday, Oct. 27 from 8 a.m. to noon. Vendors will have a variety of merchandise such as Aggie gear, Greek paraphernalia, jewelry, natural body care items and so much more.

Sheraton Greensboro Hotel Homecoming 2020 Reservation Update
With new technology upgrades to the Sheraton Greensboro, the Office of Alumni Relations would like to inform you of the new reservation process that will take effect beginning with Homecoming 2020.

In previous years, North Carolina A&T’s homecoming guests have had the opportunity to book rooms a year in advance on the Thursday of homecoming week onsite at the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel. Due to the Marriott Corporation acquisition of the Sheraton, the reservations system has been changed and all new reservations will now take place online, making it easier for guests to have access to rooms. There is no longer an onsite reservations office at the Sheraton Greensboro. Reservations will not be accepted on Thursday, Oct. 24 (onsite or via phone).

On Monday, January 20, 2020, the Office of Alumni Relations will post the reservation link on the university website for guests interested in reserving a room at the Sheraton Greensboro Hotel for homecoming. Please do not call or visit the Sheraton Greensboro to make reservations.

Understanding that this represents a change to traditional homecoming routines, we want to assure you that it is the Sheraton Greensboro’s top priority to continue providing quality service. For decades, the Sheraton has provided a wonderful homecoming experience for our guests that has been enjoyable and left us all with amazing memories, and we believe that will continue to be the case for many years to come.

Please note: If you believe that your contact information with the university needs to be updated or you would like to join the Office of Alumni Relations email list for future updates, please email alumni@ncat.edu or call 336-433-5570.
