Letter from the Executive Director to All Aggie Alumni

Greetings Alumni,

Over the past couple of weeks, we all have been affected by the impact of COVID-19. This is an unprecedented time that has caused tremendous changes for our nation and our amazing alma mater, North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University.

Just a week ago, our students were instructed by the UNC System to leave campus to “flatten the curve” of the spread of the coronavirus. This request disrupted the lives of over 12,000 students, requiring them to make unexpected arrangements to return home or to an off-campus location, and transition to online learning.

For our alumni, you are part of the extended family -- more than 58,000 strong worldwide. We know that for you, what happens here at North Carolina A&T is personal, important, and meaningful. And I want to ensure you that Chancellor Harold L. Martin, Sr. is demonstrating excellent leadership for our students and the university as a whole.

Alumni, I want you to be safe, take care of yourself, your families and follow the guidelines implemented by your state officials. My prayers are with you and I have faith that if we stand together in the spirit of Aggie Pride, we will all persevere at the end.

Thank you for all that you are doing wherever you are to support us and to keep the Aggie spirit alive and well.

Also, I want to encourage you to show your Aggie Pride by supporting our students in need by donating to the Student Emergency Fund. The university created the fund to help students who are struggling to travel back home and for those who lost employment that is hindering them from being able to afford personal necessities, food, internet access for online courses, and to pay their rent or storage fees.

Please note: Students who are in need of assistance are being asked to fill out a form located on www.ncat.edu/coronavirus.

Make your gift today to be the difference in the life of an Aggie student by texting “AGGIE” to 71777 or by clicking here.

With Aggie Pride,

Teresa M. Davis ‘89
