LAST MEETING RECAP
Thursday afternoon, November 18, 2011, we welcomed twelve new members and conducted an orientation class to get them acquainted with the BOV. Later that evening the North Carolina A&T State University Board of Trustees and Board of Visitors came together to dine with each other before their respective meetings on November 19, 2011.
Friday's meeting marked the one year anniversary of the NC A&T State University Board of Visitors. The meeting was held in the auditorium of the recently completed New Academic Classroom Building. Dr. Wanda Lester, Associate Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs, introduced us to some of the great people and programs housed in the New Academic Classroom Building: Minnie Battle Mayes, Director of International Programs; Dr. Michael Cundall, Jr. – Honors Programs; and Dr. Tracey Ford – Center for Academic Excellence.
We also heard from Vice Chancellor Barbara Ellis and her team about challenges and opportunities in the area of Information Technology (IT) and established a new IT committee to help. We agreed to change the name of the Public Affairs Committee to Governmental Affairs then broke out into our respective committees and got to work.
