On Feb. 27, Patricia Cage-Bibbs, women’s basketball head coach, became the first coach of an NCAA Division I HBCU to win 500 games when the Lady Aggies defeated Savannah State, 88-74. Since coming to N.C. A&T in 2005, Cage-Bibbs has led the team to three conference titles and has been named MEAC Coach of the Year twice.
Cage-Bibbs made NCAA history as the only women’s coach in Division I history to compile 500 wins coaching exclusively at a historically black college or university. She has coached for 27 years with 14 of those being in the MEAC. During those years, Cage-Bibbs has racked up 303 conference wins.
