With an electrical engineering degree from North Carolina A&T State University in hand, Paige Lewter was able to kick off a promising career with the U.S. Naval Air Systems Command in Patuxent River, Md., immediately after graduation.

Engineering student Kris Wiedenheft has been awarded the 2014 Goldwater Scholarship from the Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship and Excellence in Education Program.

 

Nicole Pride
Chancellor Harold L. Martin Sr. announced the appointment of Nicole Pride as chief of staff, effective April 1. In this role, Pride will serve as the principal liaison and adviser to the chancellor, is a member of the chancellor’s executive cabinet, and will provide strategic and operational support for internal and external constituencies.

Softball Team Sweeps MEAC Series Opener
The North Carolina A&T softball team wrapped up its opening MEAC series by completing a sweep of South Carolina State, 4-2, Monday afternoon at the Lady Aggie Softball Complex.

Aggies Prepare for Spring Game
The North Carolina A&T football team will play in their first Spring Game in two years, Saturday, 1 p.m. at Aggie Stadium. The A&T Sports Hall of Fame is welcoming back former football lettermen to participate in a pig pickin’ at the stadium. The Spring Game is free and open to the public.

The Board of Governors of the 17-campus University North Carolina has selected some of the University’s most outstanding faculty to receive its 2014 Awards for Excellence in Teaching. N.C. A&T’s recipient is Angela K. Miles, associate professor, department of management, in the School of Business and Economics.

N.C. A&T State University is No. 2 in The Home Depot's "Retool Your School" campus improvement competition. We encourage all Aggies, family and friends to vote every day for A&T. Visit www.ncat.edu, and click under The Latest. The Home Depot Retool Your School program was established to provide support for Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). The Home Depot will award one $50,000 major grant, three $25,000 campus pride grants and 13 $10,000 minor grants to the winning schools for campus improvement and maintenance. Voting ends on April 14.
