Alumni Demonstrate Aggie Pride Through Community Service Project

Aggies participated in the Celebration Bowl Community Service Project in Atlanta, Ga. by donating toiletries and giving cash donations toward the purchase of blankets to support the Powerfully United Radically Equipped (P.U.R.E.) Youth Group's effort to assist the homeless community in Atlanta.

Aggies provided over 35 blankets, 300 boxes of soap and countless other toiletry items. A P.U.R.E Youth Group representative attended the AAF/Alumni Reception on Dec. 18 and received a large bag of donated items and a gift bag of Aggie Gear provided by Shandette Harper ’96. Additional items were delivered to the P.U.R.E. Youth Group on Dec. 22 to be distributed to the homeless community. Aggies only had a week to prepare, but the tremendous support made this community service project a huge success.

As North Carolina A&T State University celebrates 125 years, the university is calling on students, faculty, staff and alumni to engage in their communities. Learn more about the 125 Service Projects (link: http://www.ncat.edu/125/service-projects.html) initiative.
