AGGIES DO, so show it. As an agricultural and technical state university we must use emotionally engaging, active imagery that captures the spirit and strength of the Aggie community. Stay away from stock images if at all possible.
B&W IMAGES
Custom B&W images play a large role in our brand and are used to exemplify our strong traditional past. B&W images can be used as stand-alones, or overlayed with colored photography. Download our custom Photoshop action here.
CREATING THE PERFECT B&W PHOTO
To get started, downoad the link below. Using Photoshop, open the Actions window (window→action) and click on the top right menu. Select "Load Actions" then navigate to where the downloaded action file is located on your computer.
We want to see students surrounded by what makes them successful. Images should capture people in the environment they work in, and allow your subject to walk, talk and move through that environment in an authentic manner. These photos should be candid, and feel organic and casual.
ENVIRONMENTAL IMAGES
Environmental photos should showcase campus landmarks, beautiful architecture, classrooms and study places.
ANGLED PHOTO TEXTURE
A 74.5-degree angled texture is used over large B&W or color images. The angle mimics the angle presented in the “AGGIES DO” stacked logo — reinforcing a familiar shape. When added to photography this angle creates interesting graphic shapes and textures. Downloadable files of key elements are available in the Assets section of this site.
USING THE ANGLED TEXTURE
When large, full-page images are in use, the 74.5-degree angled texture is used to frame the main action in the image. The two layered angles create depth and add texture to large-scale photos, symbolizing what’s unique about our “AGGIES DO” logo.
